Check a bank statement for fraud signals—privately.
Inspect the file, recompute the balance, and compare the visible story. Ocolta turns supported observations into specific review questions without uploading your document.
Inspect the file
Check format, metadata, revision history, scripts, attachments, and a cryptographic fingerprint.
Reconcile the math
Check the relationship that should hold true on the document.
Opening + deposits − withdrawals = ending
Compare the story
Compare a paystub with the matching bank deposit. Enter only values you are authorized to review.
Enter the six visible fields to compare name, amount, and timing.
Use the result well
A review aid—not bank verification.
This tool does not contact a bank, confirm account ownership, identify the issuer, or prove fraud. It helps a reviewer document file-level observations and mathematical inconsistencies.
For a complete workflow, read how to review bank statement evidence and define the source evidence your policy requires when a result remains inconclusive.
Questions before you scan
What the result can—and cannot—tell you.
Can a tool detect a fake bank statement?
No browser tool can prove that a statement is genuine or fraudulent. Ocolta surfaces supported file-level observations, checks the balance equation, and helps a reviewer decide what source evidence to verify next.
Does my bank statement leave my browser?
No. The free file scan, balance check, and cross-document comparison run in your browser. A separate Deep Review uploads a document only after you explicitly choose that paid workflow.
What bank-statement editing signals can be checked?
The file check can inspect supported format, metadata, timestamp, revision, active-content, attachment, signature, and cryptographic-identity observations. Each finding includes limitations and possible benign explanations.
What does it mean if the statement balance does not reconcile?
It means the entered opening balance plus deposits minus withdrawals does not equal the reported ending balance. That discrepancy deserves review, but it may come from a transcription error, omitted category, or statement convention rather than fraud.
Can this result be used to approve or deny an applicant?
Not by itself. The result is decision support, not bank verification, identity verification, a fraud verdict, or a substitute for your organization’s review policy and legally required human judgment.
Need another pair of eyes?
Escalate only when the evidence calls for it.
Run the free browser check first. If the file still needs review, opt in to a model-assisted Deep Review from $5.
